1000 Islands’ medical detox centre provides pharmacological interventions to aid in the detoxification process, with medical supervision provided 24/7. Each client has a safe and comfortable private room to start their detoxification process. Physicians at 1000 Island are available on site or virtually for regular weekly appointments, and available by phone around the clock.
1000 Islands believes in treating the whole person with a diverse, multidisciplinary team. They offer a variety of treatment therapies, one-on-one counselling, group therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), solutions-focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and more. Their holistic healing options include reiki, music, art therapy, and fun outdoor adventures.
After their stay at 1000 Islands, clients have a 10-week aftercare package. The comprehensive package includes access to alumni events, and other support services for continued support. Clients can stay in contact with 1000 Islands’ counselling team for check-ins. Family support and aftercare offer continued care and a smooth transition back into clients’ everyday lives. Families are invited to join weekly virtual meetings for questions, and to receive support.
1000 Islands uniquely offers separate men and women’s housing, with some rooms having waterfront views. All detox rooms are private, with private residential rooms available too. Private rooms come with their own kitchenette, and in all rooms, clients can enjoy a private bathroom, TV, balcony, large beds, and dressers. Separate gym and art facilities, plus separate buildings for nursing and counseling, afford more privacy and comfort. While residential living is gender-specific, treatment and lounge spaces are not. Clients can enjoy a coffee bar and water-front dining each day of treatment.
