About Affect2U
Affect2U treats substance addictions, process addictions, trauma, and mental health in a safe and serene environment. They use a holistic treatment approach, striving to heal the underlying cause of addiction through talk therapies, emotional processing, and peer support groups. Affect2U also incorporates 12-Step practices and the disease model of addiction treatment. They have a location for specialized trauma treatment, one for addiction treatment, and a partner rehab in South Africa.
Affect2U provides detox in a clinically monitored, home-like setting. They distribute medications to help with withdrawals as needed, and for as short a time as possible. Clients start therapeutic care as soon as they can, usually one or 2 days after starting detox. Affect2U provides 2 individual sessions each week with clinical psychologists. They also support clients with addiction counselors, an addictionologist, family therapists, and external psychiatrists.
Affect2U treats addiction and mental health conditions like anxiety and depression. Their dual-diagnosis care treats both simultaneously. Using this treatment model, Affect2U can also treat the underlying causes of process addictions. These include gambling, gaming, sex and love, and work addiction. In their addiction treatment center, Affect2U teaches relapse prevention, healthy communication, emotional regulation, and the disease model of addiction. Their serene home welcomes a maximum of 14 clients at a time, with shared rooms, chef-prepared meals, and an immersion in nature.
In their trauma-treatment location, Affect2U offers a 9-week, 9-phase program. This home welcomes 15 clients at a time, keeping all groups small as clients work through the 9 phases together. Affect2U uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Gestalt therapy, trauma therapy, and trauma-focused groups to help clients heal from trauma. Clients can also enjoy fitness and sports, art therapy, yoga, cycling, meditative walks, and robust nutrition.

Affect2U addresses trauma in a peaceful, countryside home. Throughout 9 weeks, clients move through 9 phases: resentment, shame and guilt, fear, relationships and sexuality, ACoA (adult children of alcoholics) traits, childhood stress and ACEs (adverse childhood experiences), grief, self abuse and self compassion. Clients engage in group sessions from 9-4pm, with evening activities after. Affect2U provides phone and laptop access in their trauma treatment. Clients also have weekly family meetings and twice-weekly 1:1 therapy.
Affect2U strives to treat all addiction affects: clients and their loved ones. Depending on their program, clients can meet with their families once or twice a week. Family members can attend therapy with or without their loved one in treatment. Affect2U also offers family workshops every other week, which give families a safe space to express their emotions and find support through others.
Affect2U provides continuous support as clients return to independent living. Their outpatient services provide individual and family therapy. Clients can attend once a week or every other week. Couples can attend together too. Together, or individually, clients can maintain healthy boundaries, communication skills, and manage stress and triggers as they come.
Affect2U focuses on the underlying cause of addiction, treating mental health conditions for comprehensive healing. They use 1:1 and group therapy to help clients heal from both conditions at once. Affect2U provides a safe environment to address depression, anxiety, and more. Coping skills and relapse prevention strategies can help clients as they leave treatment and start their new chapter.
