Canopy Cove is a non-denominational Christian-based treatment center for eating disorders, with one house for women and another house for teenage girls.
About Canopy Cove
Canopy Cove is a Christian-based addiction treatment recovery center that is located on 55 acres in northern Florida. They specialize in treating women and young girls for eating disorders and co-occurring disorders. Canopy Cove has a residential program, partial hospitalization program (PHP), and intensive outpatient program (IOP). Canopy Cove has separate programs and facilities for adult women (18+) and for adolescent females (13-17). Additionally, they offer a mens (18+) program with PHP and IOP services. Canopy Cove uses The Recovery Model, which focuses on the ability to fully recover from an eating disorder, rather than a medical or addiction model that doesn’t believe full recovery is possible. Canopy Cove’s team consists of a primary therapist (Ph.D), family therapist (LMFT), psychiatrist (MD), internal medicine, physician (MD), registered dietician (RD), on-site Nursing Staff (LPN), and a certified eating disorders specialist (CEDS).
Canopy Cove’s gated campus is made up of gentle rolling hills with large oak trees, magnolias, green pastures, and horses. Clients are able to participate in equine therapy on-site at their stables, too. The homes are comfortable, spacious, and homey. Canopy Cove additionally offers a family program to involve loved ones on the recovery process, so they can heal, as well. Canopy Cove is CARF accredited and accepts most forms of private insurance.
Who We Treat
Tallahassee, FL, USA
Adolescents receive the treatment they need for mental health disorders and addiction, with the added support of educational and vocational services.
Eating Disorders: Anorexia, Bulimia
An eating disorder is a long-term pattern of unhealthy behavior relating to food. Most people with eating disorders have a distorted self-image.
Connecting with specially-trained horses during recovery can enhance emotional awareness, trust, impulse control, and more.
Expressive tools and therapies help patients process past situations, learn more about themselves, and find healing through action.
Separate treatment for men or women can create strong peer connections and remove barriers related to trauma, shame, and gender-specific nuances.
Two or more people meet with a therapist together. Patients get valuable peer support, strengthen interpersonal skills, and improve self-awareness.
Spirituality connects patients to a higher power and helps strengthen their recovery, hope, and compliance with other treatment modalities.
Wellness philosophies focus on the physical, mental, and spiritual wellness of each patient, helping them restore purpose with natural remedies.
Providers involve family in the treatment of their loved one through family therapy, visits, or both–because addiction is a family disease.
Through surrender and commitment to Christ, patients refocus the efforts and source of their recovery with clinical and spiritual care.
