Ledgehill's location is beautiful and calming. I went through two periods of treatment. I recently took the time to examine my experience in rehab as an exercise in my own recovery program. I would not recommend this program but I am happy to hear of those who have had success from it. Little separation between client, stress of staff, and business. Program was extremely repetitive, individual sessions limited and just a general disorganization. I received the most guidance from the volunteers. Unfortunately my counsellor was more interested in studying me than actually listening/providing treatment. I was improperly prescribed benzodiazepine's and given for an extended period of time. Overall I did learn from some great volunteers/counsellors. I was admitted for a second time and really its upsetting to think back on that experience. Admitting clients who had to complete program in order to return to work, clients switching meds, sneaking out at night, list goes on. What has stuck with me is the ultimatum I was given about Aftercare program. You have to complete our idea of closure/healing and openly share your story with the group even though you suffer from painful anxiety. This can be difficult for anyone but shouldn't be forced on you. I had a difficult time- clearly in crisis- asked for help- and never received after care. We are all individuals and our experiences can be positive or negative. I would just say continue your research- and wish you the best of luck
Sorry to hear that you did not have the best experience. We try very hard for each client to experience the best care possible. How can I be of help to you? Please reach out and contact me.
