About Michael's House
Michael's House is a partner of the Foundations Recovery Network, a premier provider for addiction treatment in Palm Springs, California since 1988. They provide inpatient and outpatient treatment along with transitional housing. Michael’s House’s integrative treatment program is nationally recognized for offering evidence-based modalities and holistic services. Treatment involves individual and group therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing methods (MI), 12-Step facilitation, trauma therapy, yoga, outdoor outings, and mindful movement. Michael's House also provides recreational activities that enable clients to explore the emotional and spiritual aspects of recovery, and their location at the base of the San Jacinto Mountains.
Founded by late Michael’s mother, Michael’s House seeks to give patients and their families much-needed care. Attentive planning, passionate staff, and quality accreditations offer patients life-saving resources and care. Michael’s House monitors detox for those who need it, with 24-hour clinical care available to detoxing patients. After a 2 to 4-day detox period, patients transition into residential care. Treatment for substance use and mental health conditions takes an evidence-based route, with qualified professionals using modalities like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and trauma-focused therapies.
Patients at Michael’s House gain access to 30 hours of group therapy each month, plus 1-2 individual sessions per week. More may be added as clinically needed. Community living and their scenic location in Palm Springs help make the experience as rejuvenating, hopeful, and healing as possible. Family participation allows healing to extend to patients’ entire support group, if desired. Micheal’s House also welcomes therapy dogs and service dogs to their center. And for easier access, they can also arrange for a sober escort and travel support.
Located in the foothills of the beautiful San Jacinto Mountains, Michael’s House provides a safe space for healing in their comfortable residential setting. They offer shared rooms and spacious common areas, an outdoor pool, and 3 chef-prepared meals each day. Their resort-like accommodations include modern amenities like manicured gardens, an outdoor pool with a hot tub, and a volleyball court. Provider's Policy:We work with many insurance providers to guarantee you the highest quality of treatment at the most affordable cost. Our admissions coordinators are always on your side and will make the process as simple and straightforward as possible.
Michael’s House uses holistic and evidence-based therapies to unlock mind, body, and emotional healing. Upon intake, clinicians perform a psychiatric evaluation. Treatment plans extend from this information, changing as needed, and with psychological direction. Wellness opportunities and 12-Step facilitation connect patients to multiple recovery outlets.
Understanding that most addictions don’t occur on their own, Michael’s House commits to treating co-occurring mental health conditions. Their multidisciplinary team of psychologists, psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and nurses ensure that all aspects of addiction are identified. Treatment for conditions like depression, anxiety, and trauma help set patients up for long-lasting sobriety.
Michael’s House leads process groups 5 times a week, in addition to regular therapy groups and individual therapy. Process groups discuss relapse prevention, spirituality, boundaries, and more. Experiential work makes up the essence of therapy, group and individual, prompting intensive change.
Patients can enjoy yoga classes, Tai Chi, mindfulness, meditation, and exercise during treatment. Michael’s House strives to heal the body and mind, combining proven clinical care with wellness. Their holistic services mix well with their on-site amenities and calm setting.

The treatment plan was customized exactly for my needs. It wasn't just initially about a 12 step program, it was about really healing my whole mind, body, and spirit. As my needs changed, the program changed, for what I needed it to be. I had no idea that this person standing before you today was on the other side of all of that.

This was my second time at this facility, and I am grateful to have been able to come here again the second time around. The staff is great, and you will really take a lot away if you are open to the experience and committed to changing your life. Here is my simple advice, don’t make things harder than they have to be. There are rules and guidelines to this treatment center, all you have to do is follow them. The staff is kind and will assist in any way they possibly can. They are fair an consistent. I am thankful for the tools they have given me for a sober life, and second chance at long term sobriety.
