About Newport Academy, Southern California
Newport Academy’s Orange County location strives to treat adolescent teens as a whole; mind, body, and spirit. They believe that unconditional love is the foundation for the healing process. Newport Academy gives teens the life skills and self understanding that allows them to figure out their place in the world. They employ evidence-based methods, experiential methods, and family involvement to treat substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Newport Academy promotes gender-specific teen rehab centers that address the differences and needs of adolescent males and females. Founders Jim Monroe and Jamison Monroe Jr., a father and son duo, created Newport Academy to help those struggling with the same issues they as a family have struggled with in the past. Their vision is to help young adults all around the world live fulfilling lives.
The Newport Academy creates individualized treatment plans for each of their clients to best assist them on their road to recovery. They provide 24/7 support and separate clients into programs by age and gender to get the best suited treatment for them. Their clients participate in a broad range of activities from group therapy to yoga to planting gardens. They additionally provide outpatient programming and day schools for those whose schedules are a little more busy. Newport Academy also uses attachment-based family therapy (ABFT) to help rebuild familial relationships. They are accredited by The Joint Commission and covered by most private insurance providers.
