Newport Academy, a gender-specific treatment center, applies a comprehensive program to adolescents suffering from addictions and mental health disorders.
About Newport Academy
Specializing in rehab for adolescents and young adults, ages 12 to 22, the Newport Academy in California has multiple locations. They treat teens and their families from all 50 states in the U.S. and abroad. Their programs are gender-specific, and they offer 44 distinct mental health treatment modalities for anything ranging from depression to trauma-related issues to co-occurring disorders. They understand that the root issue is normally not a bad person, but rather a bad society. Founders Jim Monroe and Jamison Monroe Jr., a father and son duo, created Newport Academy to help those struggling with the same issues they as a family have struggled with in the past. Their mission is to empower teens and restore families, and to help young adults all around the world live fulfilling lives.
The Newport Beach location is 45 minutes from Los Angeles and treats teens in gender-separated homes. The Newport Academy created individualized treatment plans for each of their clients to best assist them on their road to recovery. They provide 24/7 support and separate patients into programs by age and gender to get the best suited treatment for them. Their patients participate in a broad range of activities from group therapy to yoga to planting gardens. They additionally provide outpatient programming and day schools for those whose schedules are a little more busy. Newport Academy also uses attachment-based therapy (ABFT) to help rebuild family relationships. They are accredited by The Joint Commission and covered by most private insurance providers.
