About Sanford House at Cherry Street
Sanford House at Cherry Street is a residential treatment facility for women that treats drug and alcohol addictions and the co-occurring mental health disorders. They offer a residential program, an outpatient program (OP), an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and partial hospitalization programs (PHP). Treatments include group therapy, individual therapy, medical services, and medication management. At Sanford House at Cherry Street, they use evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavior therapies (CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), family therapy, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), trauma-focused therapy, and art therapy. Sanford House at Cherry Street believes men and women develop, experience, and recover from addiction differently, which is why they have created gender-specific locations. Recently, they have incorporated LGBTQ+ addiction treatment, and they also treat individuals who are gender nonconforming. They accept most major insurances but do not work with Medicaid. Sandford House at Cherry Street is accredited by CARF.
Sanford House at Cherry Street is located in a restored home in a quiet neighborhood in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Cherry Street can accommodate 10 residents at a time in a semi private room and private bath. At Cherry Street, they have fireplaces in almost every common area, a library, sitting room, an elegant dining room, and a full size kitchen. Inside the house is a manager's office, therapist office, and the clinical directors office, so this way, there is no need to leave the estate.
