About Solstice East
Solstice East is a countryside residential home for girls ages 14-17 that specializes in helping adolescents struggling with trauma, loss, and addictive behaviors. Solstice East is one of the leading trauma centers for teens and offers a specialized approach to initiate and complete the healing process. Trauma-focused interventions can include trauma-focused CBT, equine therapy, EMDR, DBT, somatic experiencing, and brainspotting. In addition, they offer a robust adventure therapy program. Adventure therapies can include hiking to nearby waterfalls, paddle-boarding, camping trips, and mountain biking. Solstice East puts a strong emphasis on family therapy-based intervention, nutrition, physical fitness, and academics. As one of the leading therapy boarding schools, Solstice has designed their academic program to meet the students where they are and to help them develop an individualized academic plan. A typical day involves morning breakfast followed by a work out session. Afternoons involve school classes, therapy groups, and free time. Evenings are set for chores, freetime, reflection, and journaling.
Solstice East is located in Weaverville, North Carolina, just 15 minutes away from Asheville. The 25-acre campus is surrounded by the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains and includes a large school building, indoor gym, outdoor pool, a pond, and horses. Clients can enjoy endless opportunities for recreational activities such as backpacking, horseback riding, canoeing, whitewater rafting, and hiking in the mountains. Solstice East is accredited by CARF and is private pay only.
