Located in the beautiful Pennsylvania hills, White Deer Run Allenwood is a 12-Step detox and residential center for men and women with a specialized veteran program.
About White Deer Run Allenwood
White Deer Run Allenwood is a residential detox center for men and women located on the hillside of the Bald Eagle State forest. Their program is gender-specific and treats substance abuse as well as certain co-occurring disorders, including PTSD, bipolar, depression, anxiety, and ADHD. Clients participating in the detox program spend three days in a medically supervised detox and seven days transitioning in the residential program. Solely residential clients stay at the residential center for up to 30 days.
White Deer Run Allenwood’s program emphasizes the importance of treating a client as an individual, meeting a person’s unique needs, and helping them realize the fullness of life outside of addiction. Thus, clients of both programs can participate in a variety of therapies based on their individual needs. White Deer Run Allenwood offers individual, group, and family therapy, experiential therapies, and thorough discharge planning. Additional therapies offered include choice theory, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), 12-step principles, and motivational interviewing. Some of their experiential therapies that can be enjoyed onsite are aromatherapy, meditation, guided imagery, reiki, reflexology, tai chi, yoga, and an outdoor low ropes course.
Clients can enjoy a surplus of walking trails and access to nature due to the center’s proximity to a state forest. Indoor activities offered include basketball and ping pong. Housing is separated by gender with separate men’s and women’s buildings. White Deer Run Lancaster offers quality care for U.S. veterans and is an authorized provider within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Community Care Network. Their program is CARF accredited and accepts most commercial insurances and self-pay options.
