About Greater Boston Addiction Centers
Greater Boston Addiction Centers (GBAC) offers multiple programs for addiction treatment. They provide intensive outpatient programs (day or evening), partial hospitalization, and medication-assisted treatment to ease withdrawal. GBAC also treats co-occurring mental health conditions for comprehensive healing. They focus on mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy to help reframe and reshape thinking patterns.
GBAC offers IOP during the day and evening to accommodate different schedules. Their PHP care provides an intensive, comprehensive approach, with more time spent at GBAC. As an inclusive care provider, GBAC offers specific groups for women, men, and LGBTQ clients. GBAC offers cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and motivational interviewing techniques.
GBAC provides psychoeducation for clients and their families, helping them learn more about addiction, triggers, and relapse prevention. They also facilitate an employee assistance program for clients needing to take time off from work or integrate treatment into their schedule.
Clients at GBAC can learn new life skills, grow their sober community with group therapy, and reconnect with loved ones in family therapy. GBAC also uses a trauma-informed approach, helping clients process trauma in a safe setting. Along with trauma and post-traumatic stress (PTSD), GBAC can treat bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder (BPD), anxiety, depression, and process addictions.

GBAC teaches mindfulness throughout treatment, helping clients reframe negative patterns through awareness of their thoughts and emotions. They offer mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), guided meditation, and yoga. Combined, clients can continue to work through recovery with tools for rebuilding their hope and lives.
GBAC teaches valuable life skills like communication, problem solving, resilience, flexibility, and creative thinking. They also teach clients about nutrition, cooking, and self care. Using these skills, and therapeutic healing, GBAC can offer comprehensive healing and a whole-person recovery experience.
Understanding the needs of parents, students, and working professionals, GBAC provides various levels of care. Their IOP program runs during the day and evening. Partial hospitalization welcomes clients for half the day, or about 6 hours, for more intensive care. Their medication-assisted treatment helps clients through detox, if needed.
GBAC treats addiction and mental health conditions with dual-diagnosis care. They aim to treat both the cause and symptoms of each condition, helping clients heal deeply and long term. And GBAC’s trauma-informed approach can create an open, safe environment for men, women, and those in the LGBTQ community.
