About GreeneStone Centre for Recovery
GreeneStone Centre for Recovery treats addiction and mental health conditions in a private, spacious environment. Set on 40 acres, their property offers privacy, lake access, and a variety of outdoor activities. GreenStone provides medical detox, a young adults track, a military program, an Indigenous Healing track, residential treatment, aftercare, and a 2nd stage recovery program.
GreeneStone Centre for Recovery provides personalized treatment, beginning with a psychiatric assessment. For clients needing detox, GreeneStone provides medical detox with medication-assisted treatment (MAT), nursing care, and medical withdrawal management. Clients receive cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), eye movement therapy (EMDR), and trauma-informed therapy. Their military program focuses on relieving PTSD, trauma, depression, and substance use in active military members or veterans. GreeneStone also offers a young adults program for clients ages 18-24 with age-specific groups and topics.
GreeneStone Centre for Recovery offers a unique Indigenous Peoples recovery program. Clients in this program can enjoy spiritual and holistic treatment methods, spiritual counseling, land-based teachings, and Indigenous art therapy. GreeneStone partners with local Indigenous communities to deliver this specialized care. Their military program caters to military clients with PTSD, trauma, and addiction. Specialized groups unite clients in a supportive, uniquely understanding community.
Clients can enjoy wellness activities like yoga, tennis, fitness with a personal trainer, basketball and volleyball, massages, and swimming. Alumni meet up multiple times throughout the week in GreeneStone’s aftercare program. GreeneStone Centre for Recovery offers a 2nd stage program for clients leaving residential treatment. In this program, clients receive intensive recovery coaching and planning, on-site recovery meetings, and specialized therapy groups for military members, men and women, and older adults. Family can come to GreeneStone for a 3-day family program with educational groups and skill-based workshops.

GreeneStone Centre for Recovery offers individual and group therapy sessions. Their groups cover relapse prevention strategies, process groups, integrated support for co-occurring disorders, sober living strategies, special-focus groups, and wellness activities. Their special-focus groups separate clients by gender, age, and more for a tailored theme. GreeneStone offers spiritual therapy and trauma therapy in group and 1:1 settings.
GreeneStone Centre for Recovery offers a unique Indigenous Healing track, guided by local Indigenous communities and Elder Strength. Their Indigenous track introduces traditional healing to non-Indigenous clients, but primarily gives Indigenous clients a special space to heal. GreeneStone’s military program, led by their military support specialist, welcomes veterans and active military members. Military clients can begin healing from trauma, PTSD, mental health conditions, and addictions in a safe setting.
Clients can enjoy GreeneStone’s 40 acres of quiet woodland. They offer an on-site gym, personal trainer, outdoor seating, an indoor pool, shuffleboard, tennis, basketball and volleyball, yoga sessions, and meditation. Clients can walk various trails throughout the property and enjoy the nearby Sunset Bay of Lake Muskoka.
GreeneStone Centre for Recovery hosts multiple alumni meetings each week to connect clients to support throughout their recovery. In aftercare, clients also have 4 therapy sessions with a therapist from GreeneStone, or therapist local to them. If desired, GreeneStone can also provide a sober companion who lives in-house with clients after they leave treatment. Clients can also become Alumni Ambassadors after they complete treatment. As an Ambassador, they’ll pair with a client who’s just begun treatment to guide them through the process.

The facilities, food, and program are a blessing for those seeking a new beginning. At all times I was treated with kindness, and respect. They listened, challenged and helped me process my life journey and experiences with addiction. I am grateful for the aftercare; through phone calls, emails or weekly zoom connections they have helped me solidify both my sobriety and life change.

GreeneStone was the perfect starting point for my recovery journey. I was able to be separated from drugs and alcohol and see what was available to me for long-term sobriety. GreeneStone's holistic approach was exactly what I needed to make my own choices for how my recovery would look. I would recommend this facility to anyone who wants to change their life for the better.
