Serenity Knolls provides residential treatment for addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions. Once a summer camp, their private campus offers shared bedrooms and outdoor activities. Serenity Knolls bases their treatment on the 12 Step recovery program, providing daily 12-Step meetings, 12 Step education, and connections to local 12-Step meetings after treatment. Their treatment program provides detox and residential treatment, with the option to extend residential treatment. Serenity Knolls notably offers a lifetime of aftercare after a 30-day stay.
Personal, Compassionate Care
Serenity Knolls begins treatment with thorough assessments and health evaluations. These initial assessments identify any family history of addiction or mental health conditions, physical health, and the treatment services that fit each client’s needs. Clients detox under the 24/7 care of Serenity Knolls’ medical doctor, nurses, and clinical technicians if needed. Clients may take prescribed comfort medications for withdrawal symptoms. Serenity Knolls’ Foundation Program provides 30 days of residential care, with daily group therapies, 12-Step meetings, and at least one weekly individual therapy session with a psychologist.
Evidence-Based, Intensive Treatment
Serenity Knolls provides a variety of evidence-based therapies, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT), and equine therapy. They offer these therapies in group and individual settings. Clients meet daily with their counselor to check in, discuss goals and progress, and address any issues. Group therapy at Serenity Knolls includes process groups, psychoeducation groups, and gender-specific groups for men and women. Serenity Knolls also provides weekly family therapy when desired.
Comprehensive, Continuous Care
Serenity Knolls treats several co-occurring mental health conditions, including depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, and trauma disorders. Their psychiatrist can prescribe medications as needed for comprehensive treatment. After a 30-day stay at Serenity Knolls, clients and their families have access to a lifetime of aftercare. This includes weekly meetings, weekend programs, yearly activities, sobriety milestone celebrations, and celebrations around the holidays.

Serenity Knolls provides care and support for clients’ loved ones. They provide weekly family therapy sessions, led by a marriage and family therapist, and a family program on the weekends. Their family program includes sessions on codependency, blame and guilt, denial, and the medical aspects of addiction and recovery. Serenity Knolls provides a lifetime of aftercare, which also extends to family members. In aftercare, clients can meet weekly with other alumni, celebrate sobriety milestones each month, and attend yearly get-togethers and holiday celebrations.
12-Step Treatment
Serenity Knolls bases their evidence-based treatment on the 12 Steps. They treat addiction as a disease, using tailored care to address the needs of each unique client. Serenity Knolls provides daily 12-Step meetings, 12 Step education, and brings clients to off-site 12-Step meetings in their extended residential program.
