Combining evidence-based treatment with holistic care, equine therapy, adventure therapy, and athletic classes to treat addiction.
About Texas Recovery Centers
Texas Recovery Centers is a residential treatment center that specializes in substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health treatment. Texas Recovery aims to build the client's self esteem through athletic and wilderness training, while also providing evidence-based therapies and holistic services. The treatment is a combination of gender-specific and co-ed classes and activities. A typical day begins with morning medication, devotionals, and group therapy. After lunch, clients usually participate in an athletic activity, meditation, and community meetings and educational classes. After dinner, clients have free time for walks, meditation, and journaling. Optional on-site 12-Step meetings in the evening are also available. Texas Recovery also utilizes a holistic approach to addiction recovery. They offer an equine-assisted treatment program. During the course of the program, clients will spend 1-on-1 time with the horse. Clients will have the opportunity to groom, feed, and exercise the horse. Equine-assisted learning provides a non-judgemental and proactive way to accomplish goals.
Texas recovery is situated on 40 beautiful acres just outside of Dallas, Texas. The sprawling campus provides plenty of freedom to roam and explore the grounds. Clients can enjoy the on-site zip line, ropes course, athletic classes, Tai Chi, yoga, and occasional off-campus adventures such as surfing.
