About Nelson Trust - Covington house
This treatment center provides women with a holistic approach to treating drug and alcohol addiction. Over the course of the treatment, women are randomly drug/alcohol screened, and they are introduced to the concept of recovery capital. Their counseling sessions are focused on relapse prevention but they also address the individualized trauma that each woman has experienced. The women in the program can begin to feel supported, safe and connected with themselves and the world. Aside from group and individual therapy, the women participate in outdoor activities, creative pursuits and family support services. They also offer an aftercare plan that includes recovery groups and peer mentoring opportunities. Within the Nelson Trust organization, there are resettlement houses that the women can move into after completing treatment at Covington House.
